In his former role as a nature guide in Alaska, Stan Reese frequently heard visitors express a desire to be brought back to the place they cherished so deeply. They wished for their ashes to be scattered in this majestic wilderness as part of their final journey.
This concept gave birth to Eternal Alaska in 2018 when Stan found himself atop a high peak in the Alaska Mountain Range. As he gazed upon Denali, the tallest mountain in North America, he felt a profound sense of belonging and tranquility. He discovered an eternal peace in the raw beauty of Alaska.
As Stan explored the possibilities of an ash scattering service in Alaska, he was disappointed not to find any company that offered a truly personal, specialized service. Most treated ashes as an object to be packaged and dispatched through the mail—a thought that didn't sit well with Stan.
This was when the seeds of Eternal Alaska were sown. He realized there were countless others, like him, who would want their ashes to be respectfully scattered in the Alaskan wilderness. He understood that surviving family members would not want their loved one's ashes to be simply boxed, stamped, and mailed off to a stranger.
Stan believes in the importance of love and trust, especially in such a deeply personal matter.
Now, having carried out numerous Alaska Ash Scattering memorials, his faith in this vision has only solidified. Ash scattering should be a service that respects the memory of the departed and provides personal significance.
This vision grows stronger as Stan expands the offerings to include Ash Scatterings in Hawaii, the Gulf of Mexico, New York City, the Great Smoky Mountains, and other remarkable locations around the globe.
